Lit Mag Membership

Are you a writer, a poet, an artist, a photographer? Want to submit your work to LitMag? Please do!  You do not need to be a club member to submit. You must, however, join our Google Classroom. The code can be obtained by emailing chslitmag@ctemc.org and requesting the code OR attending a LitMag meeting OR asking an editor or the advisor, Ms. Gesin.

Local Opportunities

Project Write Now is a nonprofit organization offering a range of writing workshops to children, teens, and adults in our studio, located in Red Bank, N.J.
Project Write Now has:
  • Voices & Verse, a bimonthly open mic for students who want to read their work
  • College Essay Writing Classes
  • Writing Classes
  • A Teen Writing Group (Led by Lit Mag Editor Vivian)
Readings by esteemed writers. Free event at Monmouth University.  

Contests

Champlain College Young Writer's Conference
Champlain College in Vermont has opened applications for a spring writer's conference!  Apply for the opportunity to spend an entire weekend writing various genres, attending readings, and meeting other talented and young individuals just like you.

Scholastic Arts & Writing
Submissions open every fall. Esteemed competition for everyone who creates.

Young Arts 
One of the largest and most competitive competitions for young artists (of all disciplines) in the nation. Submissions are open from approximately May to approximately October.

Iowa Young Writers' Studio Online Courses
The University of Iowa Young Writers' Studio is hosting spring creative writing classes online, specifying in poetry, fiction, or a mix of the two. Applications for the program are due October 31.

Iowa Young Writers' Studio Summer Residence 
Stay in Iowa City, a "mecca for creative writers," for two weeks while under the instruction of published writers in various genres.  Applications open in the spring.
